Woman Care Trust organized a Punjabi Cultural Night for ladies with the support of Sanjh Cultural and Sports Inc. on 4th July 2015 at Vodafone Event Centre. While the function was organized for 500 participants, WCT were surprised to see more than 1000 ladies and almost 200 children at the musical performance night. The event began at 6:30pm with a 10 minute welcome speech from Woman Care Trust. Punjabi folk dance ‘Bhangra’ was then performed by several groups of children. There were also Mehndi games and Matka Races. The folk dance ‘Giddha’ was performed by the senior ladies team of Woman Care Trust and was said to be the highlight performance of the night. There were also solo performances from some ladies. Best Dancer and Best Dress Awards were given out at the end of the programme. Eventually Baljit Dheil gave a Thank You speech and distributed prizes to the winners. Everyone appreciated this event through social media from overseas as well. Some of the Punjabi singers and actors have posted our videos and acknowledged the event. This is a very proud moment for us. Ladies are demanding this type of event in the future
