Kai Iwi Lake Bus Trip

Woman Care Trust organised bus trip to Kai Iwi Lake on 15th December 2019 attended by 110 members. Bus picked up the ladies from the Centre for Kai Iwi Lakes. The journey was full of fun for the members as they were singing lots of old & new Indian songs, shared jokes and played Antakshari (spoken parlor game played).

The first stop of the bus was half way to the final destination to let the ladies have breakfast and relax from the journey. After reaching Kai Iwi Lakes all the members captured beautiful clicks of the fantastic sights and were blessed with the steady lake and shining sun allowing them to sit on the sand to watch the world go by. Ladies spent wonderful time looking to the excellent views and relaxed their mind & body by lazing down in the sand.

Kai Iwi Lakes famous for crystal clear freshwater lakes is one of New Zealand’s best holiday spots. Only three hours from Auckland, 35 kilometres from Dargaville. Nestled amongst 538 hectares of premier recreation reserve with white sand, freshwater dune lakes renowned for their jewel‑like beauty and clear waters.

The ladies got the chance to play kabaddi with their friends on the lake and the ladies at the time of the play were filled with full of energy & excitement. All the members had wonderful time at the lake and shared their together sitting on the grass and enjoying the sun. The bus moved back and reached Auckland bringing back the members with the beautiful memories from the trip. The main motive of the trip was to enhance, promote and foster culture links and communication between the India and rest of the New Zealand, relieving poverty to recent immigrants to New Zealand by creating social network. All ladies made more friends at the trip and came to know more about New Zealand surroundings.
