Woman Care Trust successfully celebrated their 47th Senior Ladies Day on 21st October 2019 at Learning Centre. About 170-180 ladies attended the event. As usual we started our function with reciting holy prayer “Chaupai Sahib Path”. This time in addition to senior ladies day, WCT also celebrated Diwali-The Festival of lights with their members. WCT team lighted up candles & diyas in celebration of festival Diwali .The lights symbolise goodness and the festival is based on good overcoming evil (or darkness). People say prayers to the goddess of wealth Lakshmi to wish for prosperity for the coming year. There were few games organised for the ladies and WCT then distributed prizes to the game winners to keep them motivated and feel energetic. In addition of playing games ladies spent wonderful time dancing, singing and sharing jokes with their friends. There was modelling and question/answers round for the ladies for Ms. Pataka contest. The contest was a form of fun and boosting confidence level of the ladies. Also, members dressed up in their beautiful Indian attire to celebrate their cultural festival. WCT had arranged for the ladies – Indian curry with roti, rice and sweets for Diwali celebration. This function is also a platform for the ladies to get improve their socialisation and make new friends. Ladies spent quality time at the function by dancing on Punjabi songs and all the ladies witnessed another successful celebration of the Seniors Ladies Day along with the cultural festivals celebration which is another step for Woman Care Trust in achieving their goal of Woman’s Wellbeing and Community Development.
