13th Senior Ladies Day
Woman Care Trust successfully celebrated its 13th Senior Ladies day on 22nd April 2016 at Community Centre. More than 60 ladies attended the event. The function started with the prayers, reading “Chaupai Sahib Path “and then one of the ladies sang devotional song. Then the chairperson of Woman Care Trust Baljit Dheil organised a Projector to show the ladies the Video and the pictures of the Gidha Team participation at ASB Show ground on 9th April 2016 and in Parliament at Wellington on 12th April 2016. All the ladies really enjoyed watching the slides while drinking tea and eating some refreshment. They all appreciated the energetic performance of the ladies showing their talent in front of the honourable prime minister and other ministers in parliament celebrating Vaisakhi for the first time in New Zealand. All ladies were very proud to be a part of the organisation which have given them an opportunity to present their culture and celebrate their festival at such a big platform. After the tea break and watching Gidha on Projector, ladies did some exercises and yoga under the supervision of their Yoga and Gym instructor Paramjit Kaur. Then the ladies danced together on some Punjabi songs and enjoyed a lot. Then Ladies played few Indian traditional brain boosting games to keep the ladies active and help in improving their memory. After some physical exercise Dr Kamal was present between the ladies to give them some important information on Healthy Diet and remedies for curing Diabetes. Then Dr Kamal answered the queries of the ladies about their health issues and home remedies for their day to day health problems. After the health session, Baljit Dheil had arranged Indian Food in lunch for the ladies, they enjoyed eating chick peas with rice and ice cream in desert. They all went back home with beautiful memories to save them from day to day stress and boredom and helped in making more friends. It was a well-planned, informative and enjoyable event for the ladies.
