Devonport Trip

Woman Care Trust organised bus trip to Devonport for 50 members of the trust on 18th April 2021.The trip started with the religious prayer and later in the relaxing mood ladies enjoyed singing songs, played Antakshari and shared jokes with the friends in the bus.

With a distinctly historical flavour, Devonport is a quaint 19th century village with 45 minutes’ drive from the South of Auckland.

The ladies spent wonderful time at the beach doing some light and fun exercises, played fun games and later enjoyed performing Punjabi folk dance –Gidha. Other people present at the beach also got excited to see them dancing and having fun they joined them doing dance as well.

Ladies also explored the unique shops at Devonport. After having lunch and relaxing at the beach, the trip moved to explore Torpedo Bay Navy Museum in Devonport where a tour guided accompanied the members to provide them the history of New Zealand Navy. This tour was an opportunity for the members to have better understanding of New Zealand Culture. Also during the tour, members made new friends which helps them to improve socialisation and get rid of depression & stress due to loneliness and boredom
