More than 70 members attended the Monthly Ladies Day organised at the Woman Care Trust Centre on 29 September 2026. The event provided an opportunity for women to come together, connect with others, gain useful information and enjoy social and cultural activities in a welcoming environment.
The programme began with the recitation of a religious prayer, followed by morning tea for all attendees. A representative from Age Concern Auckland then delivered an informative session about the various services and support available through Age Concern. The session was particularly valuable for senior members, helping them understand what assistance, information and community services they can access when needed.
Following the information session, members participated in the traditional game of Tambola, which created a fun and engaging atmosphere. Members also enjoyed singing and dancing together, encouraging social interaction, friendship and a sense of belonging within the community.
Woman Care Trust organised an Indian lunch and dessert for all members attending the event. Sharing a meal together provided another opportunity for members to socialise, build relationships and enjoy time together.
The Monthly Ladies Day was another positive step towards women’s wellbeing and community development. Activities such as these help reduce social isolation and loneliness, strengthen community connections, promote emotional and social wellbeing, and provide women of different ages and backgrounds with opportunities to participate, learn and connect.
