Woman Care Trust successfully celebrated their 24th Senior Ladies Day on 29th May 2017 at Learning Centre. About 80-90 ladies attended the event. As usual we started our function with reciting holy prayer “Chaupai Sahib Path” After prayer all the ladies recited “Shabad , these  prayers are not only a way of connecting to god but also provide peace of mind and positive thinking to the ladies attending the function. After the prayers WCT had arranged for Tea and Indian snack “Samosa” and Indian sweets for the ladies. After the tea break ladies played some traditional games. Most of the senior people are reluctant to do any exercise due to isolation, these games are way of motivating them to do some activity in group. Exercise for seniors offers a variety of key benefits that improve overall quality of life. Regular, moderate physical activity can help manage stress and improve your mood. And, being active on a regular basis may help reduce feelings of depression. Studies also suggest that exercise can improve or maintain some aspects of cognitive function, such as your ability to shift quickly between tasks, plan an activity, and ignore irrelevant information. There are smiles and laughter among the participants which help the ladies in overcoming depression and loneliness from their life. Baljit Dheil then distributed prizes to the game winners to keep them motivated and feel energetic. After playing games WCT had arranged Naturopathy health session for the ladies in which Dr Kamal provided important information on health issues  and educating them in curing health problems in natural way and managing healthy diet chart in our daily eating schedule, Dr Kamal also answered personal health issues of the ladies. After the health session, all the ladies danced on Punjabi folk songs. Indian lunch was arranged for the ladies Chick Peas curry, mixed vegetable, rice and bread. Spending time with the ladies improves their social network and kept them engaged.
