31st Senior Ladies Day

Date: 29 January 2018

Woman Care Trust successfully celebrated their 31st Senior Ladies Day on 26th January 2018 at Learning Centre. This time we also got the opportunity to celebrate Indian Republic Day at the centre with great pride. This is an occasion very close to the heart of the Indians. About 60-70 ladies attended the event. As usual we started our function with reciting holy prayer “Chaupai Sahib Path” Prayers provide peace of Mind –Prayer improves our spiritual practice, enhances our chanting, and reduces ego. Peace of Mind – This is perhaps the most desired emotional gift we can receive through prayers. After the prayers ladies did some exercise under the supervision of yoga instructor Paramjit Kaur. Exercise has been shown to improve your mood and decrease feelings of depression, anxiety and stress. Health experts advise that regular exercise for the elderly offers great benefits, including extending lifespan. Then ladies celebrated republic Day by singing National Anthem. After that refreshment of Tea and Indian snack “Samosa” and Indian sweets were served to the ladies. After the tea break ladies played some traditional games. These games boosts Cognitive Abilities. Improves physical health, increases socialization, accelerates healing and recuperation. There are smiles and laughter among the participants which help the ladies in overcoming depression and loneliness from their life. WCT then distributed prizes to the game winners to keep them motivated and feel energetic. After playing games Pizza and Ice Cream was arranged for the ladies, they really enjoyed eating together with their friends and Ice Cream helped them to beat the summer heat. Spending time with the ladies improves their social network and kept them engaged. All the ladies witnessed the successful celebration of the Seniors Ladies Day and also this achievement is another step for Woman Care Trust in achieving its goal of Woman’s Wellbeing and Community Development.
