29th Senior Ladies Day

Woman Care Trust successfully celebrated their 29th Senior Ladies Day on 30th October 2017 at Learning Centre. About 90-100 ladies attended the event. As usual we started our function with reciting holy prayer “Chaupai Sahib Path” Prayers provide peace of Mind – This is perhaps the most desired emotional gift we can receive through prayers. After the prayers ladies did some exercise under the supervision of yoga instructor Paramjit Kaur, benefits of exercise includes increased energy level, improves muscle strength & brain function. After exercise refreshment of Tea and Indian snack “Samosa” and Indian sweets were served to the ladies. After the tea break ladies played some traditional games. These games boosts Cognitive Abilities. Improves Physical Health. Increases Socialization. There are smiles and laughter among the participants which help the ladies in overcoming depression and loneliness from their life. Woman Care Trust had arranged prizes for the game winners to keep them motivated and feel energetic. After playing games WCT in collaboration with Roopa aur Aap charitable trust had organized workshop to highlight the issues faced by migrants which will also include issues like Domestic Violence and Immigration. Team leader from West Auckland Research and Immigration advisor assisted with ladies queries. After the workshop all the ladies danced on Punjabi folk songs. Indian lunch was arranged for the ladies and they really enjoyed eating Indian gravy red kidney beans, rice and bread. Spending time with the ladies improves their social network and kept them engaged. All the ladies witnessed the successful celebration of the Seniors Ladies Day and also this achievement is another step for Woman Care Trust in achieving its goal of Woman’s Wellbeing and Community Development.
